We are a Fremont, California based company looking for a Senior Technical Support Representative / Managed Service SysAdmin to handle remote system administration and technically challenging support for Linux bases systems and HPC clusters. This position is for the New York City area.
This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in Linux HPC cluster and Enterprise environments. You should have strong hardware, Linux and networking skills and be prepared to roll up your sleeves and tackle complex problems on a daily basis. On the software side we are looking for someone with a solid understanding of schedulers, HPC applications and Enterprise environments. You will be working with our support team as the senior technical escalation contact for complex hardware and software issues. You will also be the lead technical System Administrator for our Managed Service offering.
This is a “customer facing” position, working with customer everyday. You will be required to work independently, set customer expectations appropriately, coordinate with other team members or departments in determining problem resolution, and remain highly organized.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Linux and HPC cluster System Administration
•Managed Services System Administrator and Account Management
•Escalation for complex hardware issues
•Escalation for software, schedulers and HPC issues
•Handle incoming support requests quickly, patiently and accurately.
•Opening, managing and documenting cases and work orders
•Rotation Duty as On-Call Support Engineer
•Help develop and grow our Managed Service offering
•Design enterprise network and hardware configurations for customers
•Train junior support engineers
•Expert with Linux, including advanced system administration,and networks (7+ years).
•Strong PC hardware trouble-shooting and repair skills (5+ years).
•Strong networking skills (5+ years).
•Candidates should have an understanding of Linux clusters, schedulers and common HPC applications.
•Strong understanding of enterprise environments and datacenters.
•Working knowledge of computer hardware, including storage, memory and other non-Penguin peripherals.
•Proven verbal and written communication skills with a track record of problem solving without escalations.
•We are an upbeat team who value enthusiasm and a work ethic as much as your technical skills.
•Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) a plus. If you do not have the certification, we will reimburse your tuition once you have successfully completed the course.
•Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work independently to resolve customer issues.
